GETTING YOUR CHILD BACK ON TRACK

We fundamentally serve two types of students at RTLL. The first is a middle school, high school, or college student who’s currently enrolled in a Spanish course at school. Many students find the subject understandably challenging for a variety of reasons. Perhaps they’re struggling to master one of the many verb tenses in Spanish, or perhaps they’re finding it hard to learn and retain new vocabulary. They may need guidance with homework, or help with increasing their performance on tests. Whatever individual needs concerning Spanish class your child may have, our tutors all have access to a tremendous breadth of knowledge, teaching tools, textbooks, lesson plans, practice problems, and many resources shared between us. We’ll work patiently and diligently to quickly build up your child’s skills and confidence, and to help them improve their grades in the course.

The second type of student that we serve is someone who’s independently interested in learning or improving their Spanish, irrespective of any academic coursework. COMPREHENSIVE SPANISH LESSONS

Our comprehensive, student-focused lessons are centered around conversation, vocabulary, skill-building, and of course, the four core abilities of language learning : listening, reading, speaking, and writing. We supply all of the curriculum and materials to be used in sessions, so there’s no need to worry about buying any additional books, unless you want to do so for fun :)

A typical one-hour session may consist of a verbal warm-up, a discussion of previously assigned reading homework (usually a short story), a dive into a recent news article in Spanish, a short grammar lesson on a specific concept (such as imperfect subjunctive verbs), a back-and-forth reading of a Spanish dialogue, and a quick game. Of course, we tailor lessons to fit each student’s individual needs and goals!
